4SSRH - FOUR SEASON SPORTS ROLLER HOCKEY

Four Season Sports is an organization built around the development of creativity in sport. 4SS currently offers programs all year round at Syl Apps Community Centre in Paris & Woodman Park Community Centre in Brantford.

4SSRH, our roller hockey program is entering its 9th year. Since the inception of our Youth Programs in 2007, we have seen an increase in registration numbers within all our roller hockey programs. The numbers are very positive with a 24% growth in 2008, followed by 36% growth in 2009. Girls and boys, men and women of all skill levels from beginner to advanced are welcome to participate.
The sport of roller hockey is a great way to improve your ice hockey game. Many of the members of the Canning Mudhogs Mens team play both ice and roller hockey.

Our Mission

Four Season Sports was developed with creativity in sport being the focus. Creativity in sport is simply playing outside the box and finding comfort at your experience level. It’s ok to be different and not everyone has the same skill set. Within our programs we have set out to offer different levels of competition for all players. Our most unique programs actually combine all talent levels to make a fun, evenly matched opportunity to play sports.

Indoor Soccer Newest Addition To 4SS

After a very successful Indoor Soccer Demonstration Night at Syl Apps April 13th on the new sports flooring, we are happy to officially introduce the newest addition in the Four Season Sports family, 4SSIS – Four Season Sports Indoor Soccer.

"It has always been a program we felt would compliment 4SSRH – Four Season Sports Roller Hockey in the fall and winter months!" Sara Murray – 4SS President.

With the newest addition of 4SSIS the community will gain indoor soccer leagues for youth right through to adult in the fall and winter months. 4SSIS and 4SSRH gives parents and kids another option for sports activities when the weather cools.

A final decision has not been made regarding Syl Apps after August 31st. However, Four Season Sports continues to move forward with their plans to develop their program planning in order to not miss a beat when Syl Apps Arena remains open into the fall.

Currently 4SS is running pick-up soccer nights in April to gain feedback on the floor and continue to improve their program for fall 2010. "We are very excited to be able to offer a variety of sports on our sports flooring and continue to breathe new life into Syl Apps Community Centre." Brock Murray – 4SS Director of Operations.

Exciting Offer For 2010

4SSRH has an exciting announcement for the 2010 roller hockey season. We will be subsidizing our 6 and under Learn to Skate and Play Program. This will bring the cost to register down from $140 per player, to $119 per player. Our plan is to bring this to $99 per player by looking for more sponsors to subsidize the cost of the program.

It’s clear that the opportunity to grow our sport is by sharing it with our youngest members. In 2009 our 6 and under program took a team to compete at NARCh (North American Roller Hockey Championships), held in Mississauga at the Hershey Centre. We were very successful capturing a Bronze Medal and just missed out on going to the Finals with an overtime loss in the Semis.

This was an amazing experience for our 6 and under players. You could see how much they enjoyed it by the smiles on their faces as each was given a Bronze Medal. Gold, Silver or Bronze would not have mattered on this day as it was more about the experience of being part of a team. Four Season Sports Roller Hockey is excited to offer this great experience to all 6 and under players for $119 this coming May 2010.

If your child would like to try roller hockey before May we have our winter program ongoing on Sunday morning’s right up until the summer season. Its two sessions per month and we try to work around ice hockey schedules. Time is from 9-10am. Cost is $10 per player per visit. Insurance of $20 per player must be paid up front. This will cover them through the winter, spring and summer season. Call or email us if you would like more information. (519) 771-8181 or brock@4ss.ca.
